Greetings, Meditators,
I would love to hear from you. What would you most like to know about meditation? How can I encourage you? What can I give to you to help you to meditate at the frequency you choose? How can I make this monthly Ezine or the Voice of Jeanie Marshall web site more valuable to you?
I know that many of you know about the Relaxing Tips email list because you have downloaded the free guided meditations. This email list is designed to support you in your meditative practice. And, of course, if you are only interested in the free guided meditations, you can immediately unsubscribe from the list.
Please let me know how I can support you.

Since this is roughly half way through the calendar year, statistically you are as likely to have a birthday during the rest of the year as during the year so far. Celebrate any time!
How are you going to celebrate today?
How can you make today special? |

Each day is like a new birth. You emerge from sleep into a day you spend in the world. You may find you can change the experiences of your day if you treated yourself as if it is your special day, your birthday.
What thoughts do you wake up with? Worries about yesterday, today, or tomorrow? Joyful expectancy about the new adventures of the fresh day? If the thoughts do not feel good, do you take a little time to think more pleasant thoughts?
You may find that you awaken with a laugh, a grumble, a yawn or other stretch, eagerness, or a wish that you had five more minutes before the demands of the day absorb you. Do you think it would make any difference if it were your birthday? Or perhaps some other special day? How can you make every day special?
As you're reading this, you may find this is the perfect time to decide how you want to wake up tomorrow. You can decide the thoughts or attitude you want to start out with. Usually the way you start the day is the way you continue the day, but not always. If you begin to feel less good than you set out to feel, it's important to pay attention and get back to the good attitude, thoughts, or feeling you chose intentionally at the beginning of your day.
Just after you have meditated, you might find that you can easily identify that attitude or thought you want to awaken with the next day. In a meditative state or in that dreamlike state just before or after sleep is a particularly receptive time to be tapped into the way you most want to be.
The stresses and challenges of the day can be uncomfortable, de-energizing, or frustrating. As most people know, there are several ways to bring balance into your life under such circumstances: sleep, meditation, relaxing activities, physical exercise, doing something you enjoy, and doing something different. I have found that the most healthy and successful people balance their challenging lives with such techniques on a regular basis.
To my way of thinking, meditation does not only take place in 20-30 minute blocks of time in a seated position. I think twenty minutes of quiet, focused meditation each day is ideal. However, that does not work for everyone. Some people meditate for five minutes in the shower, or while jogging for ten minutes, or by gardening for hours. The specific activity or lack of activity does not matter; what matters is clearing you mind of chatter to allow the dissonance to drop away, even if only during a short period of time.
What about you? How do you balance your life? How do you pamper yourself? When you go outside yourself to achieve balance, where do you go? When you go inside yourself to achieve balance, how do you experience that dynamic? How do you celebrate your life every day?
